GIANNI PONTILLO

VICTORY, THE ORDER, FUN HALEN, DAS ZELT

The singer Gianni Pontillo has left a mark on bands like Pure Inc., The Order and Souls Revival with his voice and refined all-star productions like “Rock Circus” and “This Is Rock” by Das Zelt.

How it all began: Born in 1978, Gianni Pontillo discovered his passion for singing at the tender age of 8. At 16 he recorded his first demo with the band Pure Yeast. From then on the band played as support for Gotthard, Company of Snakes, Bonfire and other well-known rock acts. In 2004 they recorded their first album and changed the name to Pure Inc. The band got signed by the record label AFM. After numerous concerts and tours with the Michael Schenker Group, Doro, Masterplan and Jorn Lande, Pure Inc.’s debut album landed in the Swiss charts.

Pontillo, who has always been interested in hard rock like Guns N’ Roses, Skid Row or Van Halen, joined the band The Order in 2005. The band was on stage supporting Y & T, W.A.S.P., Shakra and Primal Fear. With the two albums “1986” (2012) and “Rock’n’Rumble” (2016) The Order entered the charts in Switzerland and Germany.

In 2013 another fascinating chapter in the career of Gianni Pontillo began: Souls Revival. The alternative rock band played numerous concerts with artists like Black Label Society and The New Roses in Switzerland and Germany. In 2017 Russia was also toured with remarkable success. The album “Lost My Way” also entered the Swiss charts.

Another station in the career of the active frontman is Das Zelt. He first appeared there with the all-star project Slädu & Friends. Later he sang as replacement for Krokus singer Marc Storace in the production “Rock Circus”. The collaboration with Das Zelt is still very successful today and will be continued next year with “This Is Rock”, a spectacular journey through rock history.

In 2019, another fascinating chapter in the career of Gianni Pontillo unfolded: he becomes the singer of the German cult band Victory.

Singer Gianni Pontillo has left his mark on formations such as Pure Inc., The Order or Souls Revival with his voice and has refined all-star productions such as "Rock Circus" and "This Is Rock" by Das Zelt. Since 2019, the power tube is also on the road as frontman of the German hard rock legend Victory. With PONTILLO & THE VINTAGE CREW, he is now launching a new project with various guest musicians that perfectly showcases his flair for cultivated blues rock and singer/songwriter numbers.

How it all began: Born in 1978, Gianni Pontillo discovered his passion for singing at the tender age of 8. At 16, he recorded his first demo with the band Pure Yeast. From then on, the band played as support for Gotthard, Company of Snakes, Bonfire and other well-known rock acts. In 2004 they recorded their first album and changed the name to Pure Inc. The band was eventually signed by the record label AFM. After numerous concerts and tours with the Michael Schenker Group, Doro, Masterplan and Jorn Lande, Pure Inc.'s debut album landed in the Swiss charts.

Pontillo, who has always been interested in hard rock of the Guns N' Roses, Skid Row or Van Halen brand, joined the band The Order in 2005. The formation has been on stage supporting Y & T, W.A.S.P., Shakra and Primal Fear, among others. With the two albums "1986" (2012) and "Rock'n'Rumble" (2016), The Order entered the charts in Switzerland and Germany.

In 2013, another fascinating chapter was opened in the career of Gianni Pontillo: Souls Revival. The alternative rock band played numerous concerts with artists such as Black Label Society and The New Roses in Switzerland and Germany. In 2017, they also toured Russia with remarkable success. The album "Lost My Way" also entered the Swiss charts.

Another station in the career of the busy frontman was and is Das Zelt. There he first performed with the all-star project Slädu & Friends. Later, he sang as a substitute for Krokus tube Marc Storace in the production "Rock Circus". The collaboration with Das Zelt is still very successful today and will continue next year with "This Is Rock," a spectacular foray through rock history.

Another milestone was set in 2019: Pontillo followed the call of Herman Frank from neighboring Germany and joined the legendary Hanover-based hard rock troupe Victory as their new frontman. Releasing the eagerly awaited comeback album "Gods Of Tomorrow" in November 2021.

But Gianni Pontillo's big dream has always been to produce his own album. Now this dream has become a reality. With his band THE VINTAGE CREW and various guest musicians, ten stirring songs were created. Some of them Pontillo composed solo on the piano, others were written by guitarists Marc Elliot and Stefan Schroff. In addition to many Swiss colleagues, the album also features a top international star as a backing singer: Keyboard legend Derek Sherinian, who has made music history as a live or studio musician with bands like Dream Theater, Black Country Communion, Sons of Apollo, Alice Cooper, Billy Idol and Joe Bonamassa. The production of the album took over 2 years and the result impressively shows the metamorphosis of the artist from a hard rocker to a soulful blues rocker and singer/songwriter. PONTILLO & THE VINTAGE CREW is a collaboration of musicians from all over the world, but most of all a joint work of good friends. Get swept away by the energy of the songs.
